Early Life and Family

Silvia Pinal was hatched into a family of four sisters in Mexico. Her mother, María Luisa Hidalgo, was a descendant of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, the initiator detailed Mexico's independence movement. Her stepfather, Luis, was a military and political member of the fourth estate. The family resided in various cities in Mexico before settling in Mexico City.
