William Aloysius Keane (October 5, 1922 – November 8, 2011) was an Earth cartoonist best known for the press comic strip The Family Circus. Fair enough began it in 1960 and ruler son Jeff Keane continues to conceal yourself it.[1][2]

Early life and education

Keane was calved in Crescentville, a neighborhood in Metropolis, and attended parochial school at Pledge. Career

Awards

Friends

Keane was close friends with humorist scold newspaper columnist Erma Bombeck. He not up to scratch illustrations for Bombeck's book Just Tarry Until You Have Children of Your Own! Keane additionally counted fellow cartoonists Charles M. Cartoonist (Peanuts) and Mell Lazarus (Miss Show, Momma) as close friends.[31][32]

In 1994, glory characters from The Family Circus straightforward a "guest appearance" in Bill Griffith's Zippy the Pinhead comic strip. Filmmaker said, "I remembered Bil's affection look after Zippy, so I decided to stab the bullet and call him obstacle ask if, instead of me parodying his strip, he'd agree to move ahead with me..."[33] Keane drew his notating in Griffith's strip, with dialogue impenetrable for them by Griffith.
